Cici grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, where her love of the outdoors began while she explored the Cahaba River with her brothers. Whether making friends with the local salamanders and frogs, tubing down the river, or playing in the mud, Cici has always felt her most peaceful in nature. Once she got a little older, Cici was drawn to Wyoming Catholic College because of the Outdoor Leadership Program and the deep love of God that she saw in those who participated in it. In addition to the outdoor program, Cici grew to especially love the humanities program and the musical community at WCC. She began instructing for COR over her college summers and breaks, has more than 300 days of field time, and is certified in wilderness medicine through SOLO, swift water rescue, and PADI scuba diving. As a COR instructor, Cici was deeply inspired to spread the radical message of the Father’s love to others and to continue to deepen her understanding of it in herself. Cici graduated with the Pier Giorgio Frassati Award for excellence in outdoor leadership. After reaching this summit in her outdoor career, she continued instructing full-time as a COR Missionary. Cici’s favorite verse, one that she strives to live by, is Romans 12:2: “Do not conform yourself to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect.” In the pursuit to submit her will to God’s instead of this world’s, she has found instructing and the outdoors to be the perfect conduit. When Cici is not in the field leading backpacking, canyoneering, climbing, and other adventures, she can be found kayaking a river, night rappelling down buttes, listening to records, or sitting around a fire with her friends listening to them play guitar and all singing together.
