Laura Montreuil

Laura grew up in Covington, Louisiana where most of her childhood was spent playing outdoors in the woods with her siblings and friends. A love for nature, and especially the mountains, was instilled in her from a young age through her family’s frequent visits to the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. Being out in nature is where Laura has always felt closest to and most connected with God. The time spent hiking and playing in mountain rivers always left her yearning for more. This love for the Lord in the wilderness also came alive during her time spent at a Catholic summer camp for girls that she started attending when she was 10. Passionate about passing on the experience of encountering Christ in nature, Laura returned to the camp for the next 15+ years. After graduating with honors from Southeastern Louisiana University with a degree in Psychology, Laura wanted to fuel her passion for the outdoors and her love for the Lord. Upon learning of COR and their mission, which combines her love for the outdoors, the Catholic faith, and ministering to young people, Laura headed to Wyoming in 2023 to work as a summer intern for COR. During her internship, she acquired many new outdoors skills and earned her certification as a Wilderness First Responder. She quickly fell in love with the work and the mission of COR, and now works full time for COR as Administrative Assistant. In her free time, Laura enjoys hiking, rock climbing, watching the sunset, dancing, being around kids, and spending time with family.
